Şahin Aydın is the Head of the Department of Management Information Systems at Işık University and the Founder & Principal Investigator of INTALA LAB. Şahin Aydın conducts applied and interdisciplinary research at the intersection of information systems, intelligent agriculture, semantic web technologies, software engineering, and data-driven decision support. His research agenda focuses on transforming agricultural and livestock systems through open data, ontology-based knowledge representation, AI-enabled analysis, IoT-based monitoring, and integrated software platforms.

He has led and contributed to research initiatives on smart apiculture, honey value chains, digital twin technologies, ontology development, GIS-supported agricultural analysis, and open data platforms. His work aims to produce both scientific contributions and operational information systems that can be used by researchers, institutions, producers, and decision makers.
