Şahin Aydın is the Head of the Department of Management Information Systems at Işık University and the Founder & Principal Investigator of INTALA LAB. His work focuses on intelligent agriculture, semantic web technologies, ontology engineering, artificial intelligence, IoT, open data, and data-driven decision support systems.
Şahin Aydın conducts applied and interdisciplinary research at the intersection of information systems, intelligent agriculture, semantic web technologies, software engineering, and data-driven decision support. His research agenda focuses on transforming agricultural and livestock systems through open data, ontology-based knowledge representation, AI-enabled analysis, IoT-based monitoring, and integrated software platforms.
He has led and contributed to research initiatives on smart apiculture, honey value chains, digital twin technologies, ontology development, GIS-supported agricultural analysis, and open data platforms. His work aims to produce both scientific contributions and operational information systems that can be used by researchers, institutions, producers, and decision makers.
The research focus combines computational methods, semantic technologies, and applied information systems for agriculture, livestock, and digital transformation.
